Hutto, Texas Real Estate Overview,
Hutto is a small community with fast growing pains. A very popular area for starter homes,
construction is explosive. With real estate much cheaper than in many surrounding communities,
families have started flocking to Hutto. At the end of 2005, Hutto had approximately 12,000
citizens. In 1990 the census counted 630 and in 2000 the population was counted
as only 1250. It is projected that population will increase to 30,000 by 2015.
Hutto is built on the blackland prarie part of Williamson county's eastern edge between Round Rock
and Taylor. It has adopted a business friendly attitude and it's close proximity to Round Rock and
Austin combined with lower land costs has made it an ideal location.
First settled in 1876 and incorporated in 1911, The downtown,
main street section of Hutto still has buildings from the 1800's. IT has adapted a motto of "a
family oriented community of progress and growth".
As of the last quarter of 2006, the average sale price of a three bedroom home was $145,911.
A four bedroom averages $191,634. This is a significant dip in price compared to it's neighbor,
Round Rock.
The average price per square foot was not currently available. According to the 2000 census, the median value of
owner-occupied housing units was $92,700 versus the state average of $82,500. This figure should not be relied on
as so much is changing so quickly in Hutto.
