Pflugerville Tx Real Estate Market Overview
Pflugerville Texas was founded in 1860 and named in honor of one of the first settlers in the area, John Pfluger,
an early German immigrant escaping the prussian War.
Pflugerville enjoyed a sleepy existence until the 1980's. Growth exploded in the late 80's and into the 90's.
Population in 1990 totaled 4,444 residents and in 2000 had topped 16,000. It's current population estimates are
well above the 28,000 mark and North Austin's borders have made Pflugerville nearly indistinguishable from the rest
of the Austin Metro area.
As of January 2007:
- Two bedroom homes average listing price was $104,000.
- Three bedroom homes average listing price was $175,256.
- Four bedroom came in at $217,711.
The median value of owner occupied housing was $134,000 versus the state average of $82,500 according
to the 2000 census report.
Nearly 85% of the existing homes in Pflugerville have been built since 1980, indicative of the
explosive growth that has hit the central Texas area. The most significant building boom occured between 1995 to 1998 with
nearly 31% of the existing homes being built then.
